What Does PVA Powder Do?

What are the effects of polyvinyl alcohol powder? In what ways can it be applied?

Applications:

1. Grey calcium-based putty: A very small amount can significantly increase the cohesive strength, adhesion, and water resistance of the putty coating, reduce the amount of grey calcium powder, and significantly improve the phenomenon of delamination and scarring during sanding. Improve the surface fineness of the putty after grinding.

2. Putty on cement-based exterior walls: It can increase the setting speed of cement, increase the early strength of putty, good film formation, excellent durability, and it is not easy to remove powder when it is thin.

3. Polishing putty (imitation porcelain coating): It can improve the surface film formation, making the coating surface denser, harder, brighter and more resistant to scrubbing. 

Adding one kilo to one ton can get a noticeable effect.

4. Neutral putty for interior wall: Add 6 kg of polyvinyl alcohol powder in one ton of calcium, and the appropriate amount of cellulose (either hydroxypropyl or carboxymethyl) can get ordinary putty with far better quality than starch and 821. Powder, the hardness of this putty is intermediate between gray calcium-based putty and starchy putty, and has excellent scraping properties. 

The two types of putty have far less adhesion, flexibility, polishing fineness, and durability. If it's combined with gypsum powder and retarding technology, it will be able to get higher-grade excellent home-made putty powder. This putty powder has a long service life and good decorative effect and will become the development direction of the putty industry in the future.

5. In the instant sol gouache, it's the main binder, combined with the right amount of hydroxypropyl methylcellulose and supplemented with the right amount of thickening complexing assistant, which can be convenient and environmentally friendly, high bonding strength it can be mixed with cement gypsum to make wet wall leveling, and it can also be used to separately batch high-performance glue powder without dusting.

6. In dry powder mortar. PVA1788 powder has good film-forming properties. 

It can be used in combination with cellulose ether water-retaining agent to improve the flexibility and water retention of various cement mortars and gypsum building materials, improve the bond strength of mortar, and effectively prevent spalling, cracking, and hollow .
